Emerging...but into what?
Church planting meeting with the church leadership tonight and very productive it was. Only hitch is that I've announced my intention of looking for opportunities interstate come next year and therefore can't be the driving force behind any new ministries.
They were supportive and together we're looking for ways to make something happen anyway. The will is definitely there - we just need the people to make the vision their own. I suspect that it's going to be a long process, especially given how far from 'missional' a lot of us are. There's going to have to be a lot of 'opening eyes' before we'll have enough bodies and enthusiasm to do something new.
But where to for me?
I'll let you know when I do.

Dave, its not my place to have an opinion on what you should do with your life, but one thing i have learnt is that if you want to be a change agent in any community you have to commit to it, and that means accepting the good and the bad. It can also mean having to put aside other stuff that you would like to do so you can let the man with the plan be the man.

I agree 100%, but what's changed here is the realisation about my poor fit in the community and what that means for my effectiveness here.
I'm just not convinced any more that the plan was what I thought it was.
